Karachi power outage schedule announced

KARACHI: Karachi Electric (KE) has announced its intention to conduct critical maintenance activity in various areas of the port city on Tuesday, December 26.

The scheduled maintenance will result in an extended electricity outage in the affected locations, as announced by the sole power provider for Karachi.

The areas slated for maintenance today (Tuesday) encompass Orangi Town, Gadap, Airport II, and Queens Road Grid. KE emphasised that the maintenance activity is essential to ensuring the stability and reliability of power supply to the power consumers residing in these specific areas.

The maintenance schedule power users is as follows:

Orangi Town: 09:30 am to 2:00 pm

Airport II: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Queens Road: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

Gadap: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

To provide further assistance and guidance, KE encourages customers to reach out through its social media platforms or contact the call centre at 118.

Areas served by the Orangi Town Grid, which may experience power shutdowns during the maintenance activity on December 26, include Hanifabad, Sector-10 Ghazi Nagar, Meraj-Un-Nabi Colony, Al-Sadaf Colony, Haryani Colony, 10-L, Al-Fatah Colony, Al-Sadaf Colony, Islam Nagar 4-F, 8-L, 9-E, 7-B, 6-L, 6-E, 7-C, Banaras Town, -11½, MM Colony, among others.

Similarly, areas served by the Gadap Grid facing potential power shutdowns on Tuesday, December 26, encompass Bahria Town M-9 Deh Langheji, Rao Gohram Goth, Hub Dam, AO Farm, Haji Faqeer Mohammed Goth, and many others, as reported by Geo News.

The maintenance activity also extends to Airport II Grid, affecting areas such as Plot # 401 Rafah-e-Aam Society Malir, Deh Drigh Shah Faisal, Anwar-e-Ibrahim, Aswan Town, and more.

Lastly, Queens Road Grid will impact areas like Dr. Ziauddin Road, Hijrat Colony Area Saddar, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Molvi Tameez Udin Road, Napier Road, I.I Chundrigarh Road, and Old Queens Road.

Residents are advised to plan accordingly and stay connected with KE’s communication channels for the scheduled maintenance to minimize any inconvenience caused by the temporary power shutdowns.
