Karachi: Rangers and customs officials crack down on smugglers


KARACHI: Rangers and Customs Intelligence officials conducted a joint crackdown on smugglers operating in Karachi on Saturday.

The operation yielded results, with goods worth billions of rupees recovered from warehouses situated in various locations including Yousuf Plaza, Bolton Market, and Kharadar in Karachi.

Among the recovered items were perfumes, hair oil, body spray, face wash, shampoo, biscuits, chocolates, and other commodities. The scale of the operation indicates the magnitude of the smuggling network that was being targeted.

Following the successful operation, the seized goods were handed over to the Customs authorities for further legal proceedings. This was done through the utilisation of seven huge trucks to transport the confiscated items.

According to the spokesman for rangers, the operation is part of an ongoing effort to curb smuggling activities in Karachi. The authorities said they were commuted to continue such crackdowns until smuggling is completely eradicated from the region.
