Karachi ranked as world’s most polluted city on Thursday

KARACHI: In recent rankings released by the global website Air Quality Index, Karachi has secured the top spot as the world’s most polluted city. The air quality in Pakistan’s largest city, the economic hub of Karachi, recorded a concerning 249 particulate meters.

On the other hand, there is a slight improvement in air quality observed in Lahore today compared to previous days.

Lahore now holds the fifth position in the list of the world’s most polluted cities. Notably, Lahore claimed the undesirable top spot in the list of the most polluted cities just yesterday.

However, the air quality in Lahore remains unhealthy, with air pollution recorded at 192 particulate meters.

The Indian capital, Delhi, is currently ranked second in the list of the world’s most polluted cities, with an air pollution level recorded at 233 particulate meters.
