KARACHI: The port city of Karachi is set to endure hot and humid weather with no chance of rain in the coming days, according to the Meteorological Department.
The current temperature in Karachi has been recorded at 31 degrees Celsius, with winds blowing at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. Humidity levels are high at 75 percent, making the heat feel 4 to 5 degrees more intense.
The maximum temperature is expected to soar to 40 degrees Celsius today, while the minimum temperature today was recorded at 30 degrees Celsius.
The monsoon season is anticipated to begin in the first week of July, bringing a much-needed break from the sweltering heat.
Meanwhile, Lahore and several Punjab cities continue to reel under a severe heatwave, with temperatures expected to climb to a scorching 43 degrees Celsius today.
The minimum temperature in the city has been recorded at 31 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels are comparatively lower than Karachi at 44 percent, but the intense heat is making life difficult for the residents.
The Meteorological Department has urged citizens to take necessary precautions and stay hydrated to avoid heat-related illnesses.
