PESHAWAR: In a surprising turn of events, Bilawal Bhutto’s visit to Peshawar today has been marred by the news of key figures within Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) announcing that they are severing ties with the party.

Former Federal Minister Arbab Alamgir and his wife Asma Alamgir have officially announced their departure from the party, citing dissatisfaction with the party’s leadership and internal discord.

Asma Alamgir also resigned from her position as the Central Deputy Information Secretary of the party. Speaking about her decision in an exclusive interview with Hum News, she expressed her discontent with the party’s performance and highlighted growing mutual differences among its members.

“The party is suffering due to incompetent leadership, and it is with a heavy heart that Arbab Alamgir and I have decided to part ways,” she said, underscoring the discord within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa branch of the party.

She went on to elaborate on the longstanding issues she had raised with party leaders regarding the deteriorating situation. Despite having informed them multiple times, she lamented that her concerns fell on deaf ears.

“The party leaders have been informed about the situation many times, but unfortunately, no attention was paid to our grievances,” she said.
