Khattak’s PTI-P to hold rally in Nowshehra

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf – Parliamentarians (PTI-P), a breakway faction of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), formed by former defence minister and chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has announced a schedule of public rallies as election season beckons.

According to party spokesperson, Ziaullah Bangash, the newly formed party would hold its first public rally in Nowshehra on August 19, hometown of the party chief Khattak.

On June 1, former chief minister had announced his resignation from all PTI positions during a news conference in Islamabad.

During the media interaction, Khattak condemned the May 9 incident and called for action against those who were responsible.

On July 12, PTI suspended the party membership of Pervez Khattak, with immediate effect.

The former defence minister, on July 17, launched his own political party, naming it Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians (PTI-P).
