ISLAMABAD: Khawar Maneka, ex spouse of Bushra Bibi, has been attacked by a couple of lawyers outside the Islamabad District and Session court on Wednesday during the iddat case.
The Islamabad district and sessions court was to announce reserved verdict on appeals, filed by former prime minister Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi, against their conviction in the Iddat case today.
The verdict in the case was reserved on May 23.
A video broadcast on television showed Maneka, dressed in a white shalwar kameez, walking outside court as men, who appeared to be lawyers, shoved him. He can be seen falling as people pull the attackers off of him.
PTI female workers threw bottles at Maneka and even had a scuffle with him, while PTI lawyers slapped him inside the courtroom.
Earlier during the hearing of the iddat marriage case heard by District and sessions judge Shahrukh Arjmund, a heated exchange of words was witnessed between PTI lawyers and Khawar Maneka, further intensifying the proceedings.

The hearing for the iddat marriage case commenced, with Khawar Maneka making an appearance in court.
Khawar Maneka requested, “I want to speak for ten minutes. My lawyer is not able to convey my emotions properly. Please give me ten minutes.”
In response, the judge advised, “Let your lawyer speak.”
Khawar Maneka explained, “I come from a rural background. A fake divorce document of my daughter was made on social media.”
Islamabad district and sessions court did not announce its already reserved verdict in the Iddat case against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
Judge Shahrukh Arjumand went back to his chamber without announcing the verdict after Maneka expressed distrust in the judge.
As the judge left the courtroom, the PTI lawyers hurled bottles at Khawar Maneka over using abusing language against the party founder and his wife.
