The most likely candidate is PTI-backed candidate Ali Amin Gandapur, who emerged victorious in elections as an independent candidate.

The assembly session was scheduled to begin at 11 AM, however, it started with a lag.

Meanwhile, turmoil marked the swearing-in ceremony at the assembly, where PTI supporters hurled abuses and shoes at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) elected representative.

Despite the tumultuous start, Speaker Mushtaq Ghani administered the oath to newly elected members amidst a backdrop of political intrigue.

Amidst the ceremonial proceedings, Speaker Ghani announced the commencement of the election process for the positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, with nomination papers invited until 5 pm on the same day.

Earlier, reports emerged that Babar Saleem Swati had been nominated as the candidate for Speaker by the PTI, instead of Aqibullah.
