Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to solarize 195 health centers

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to solarize 195 health centers in four districts of the province.
This project of solarization of health centers will be done under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Program (KP-HCIP) of the provincial health department.
The project will be carried out in Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi and Haripur, the health department said on Wednesday.
The total cost of the project is expected to be a little over Rs 23 billion.
The health centers that are chosen to be solarized under this project include 151 basic health units (BHUs), 25 rural health centers, 13 Category D hospitals and six Category C hospitals.
Project Director Dr Ikram Ullah shared this project with Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Health Ihtisham Ali during a briefing. The advisor issued directives for expeditious implementation of the project.
Dr Ikram Ullah also shared that this project will later be expanded to 16 districts with restoration and revitalization of flood-affected healthcare facilities being a priority. According to news reports, the project will be financed through grant funding and loan financing.
