Kidnapped cop recovered in Machka operation

LAHORE: In a successful operation, Punjab Police have safely recovered Constable Ahmed Nawaz, who was kidnapped by dacoits from Kacha area of Machka two days ago.

Ahmed Nawaz was abducted in the deadly attack on Punjab Police in which 12 personnel embraced martyrdom while four others sustained injuries.

The news of his safe return has brought immense relief and joy to his family, according to a spokesperson for Punjab Police.

Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr Usman Anwar, emphasised that the safe recovery of Constable Ahmed Nawaz was the top priority for the force. He reiterated the police’s commitment to the ongoing suppression mission in Kucha, vowing to rid the area of criminal elements.

Newly appointed Rahim Yar Khan DPO highlighted the high morale and determination of the police force in the Kacha area, stating that the safe recovery of Constable Ahmed Nawaz is a significant achievement. The police remain focused on their mission to eliminate the threat of robbers in the region.

After the deadly attack on the police personnel, the Punjab IG changed the entire top brass of the Police in Rahim Yar Khan division. – INP
