KP CM raises concerns over Imran Khan’s jail conditions

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM), Ali Amin Gandapur, raised concerns over the treatment and jail conditions of former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, on Saturday.
Gandapur stated that the former prime minister was not being provided proper facilities in the notorious Adiala Jail. He called for a fair treatment for the imprisoned Imran Khan.

During a recent press conference, the KP CM clarified that a scheduled meeting to discuss Imran Khan’s conditions in jail was not canceled, rather relocated.
Gandapur stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is a peaceful party. However, he voiced his disgruntlement over what he describes as “unbearable arrests” of party members in what he termed “fake cases”.
The KP CM also talked addressed the internal dynamics within PTI. He said that those who left the party were “compromised and cowards”. Gandapur hinted that he has given permission for ongoing talks regarding the party’s future, despite the establishment’s stance that negotiations would not take place.
He attributed the current inflation and economic upheaval in Pakistan to political instability and the actions of those ‘in power’.

The Chief Minister also commented on the constitutional crisis plaguing the country. He stated that the violations of the constitution would persist until those ‘responsible’ for such breaches were held accountable.
