KP govt forms task force to combat smuggling

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken a significant step in combating smuggling by establishing a dedicated task force.
This task force will play a pivotal role in preventing the illegal transportation of various goods, including fertilizers, wheat, flour, currency, and petroleum products.
The Chief Secretary of Peshawar will lead this task force, which will comprise several key figures from different government agencies. Notably, the Inspector General of Police (IG Police), the Collector Customs, and representatives from the Ministry of Food, Ministry of Industry, and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) are part of this initiative.
Security forces are also actively involved, with the XI Corps, FC North, Intelligence Bureau, and ISI contributing their expertise to the task force. Additionally, provincial secretaries responsible for Food, Industry, Agriculture, and Energy and Power have been included to ensure comprehensive oversight.
The primary objectives of this task force are to curb smuggling activities and monitor the transportation and delivery of these goods, particularly in border areas.
