KP higher education dept seeks funds for universities in financial crisis

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Higher Education has sent a letter to the Finance Department, requesting the release of Rs 1.5 billion, to address the financial difficulties faced by 10 universities in the province.
The provincial cabinet had approved this grant-in-aid during a meeting on September 18, aiming to provide immediate relief to the struggling institutions.
Vandalism at district education office in Peshawar, minister directs action
According to the details, Rs 250 million has been allocated for Agricultural University Peshawar, while DI Khan Agricultural University will receive Rs 100 million. Jamia Peshawar has been granted Rs 300 million, and Rs 250 million have been allocated for Engineering University Peshawar.
Gomal University is set to receive Rs 250 million, Abdul Wali Khan University Rs 100 million, and Buner and Chitral universities will be given Rs 77 million each. UET Mardan is to receive Rs 60 million, while Rs 50 million has been approved for the University of Science and Technology Abbottabad.
