KP police: No social media posts, videos allowed

PESHAWAR: Police personnel and officers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are barred from creating social media videos, as per a notification issued by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Kashif Zulfikar on Thursday.

The ban on social media for KP police extends to sharing videos and performances of officials on social platforms. This measure aims to prevent potential impacts on police performance.

The directive follows a previous ban on police officers and personnel from using social media, with orders against sharing any content on these platforms.

The SSP Operations in Peshawar stated in a letter to police officers the need to refrain from social media use, including participation in unofficial WhatsApp groups. He cited efforts to undermine police morale through the spread of false and sensational news.
