KP students to enjoy summer vacations from June 1

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department on Thursday announced the yearly summer vacations schedule, which says the colleges and universities would remain closed from June 1 to August 15.

It is applicable to the educational institutions in the plain areas (summer stations) across the province.

However, the students of colleges and universities in the hilly regions (winter stations) will enjoy their summer holidays for a shorter period of one month from July 1 to July 31.

It is worth noting that the students of winter stations have longer yearly holidays usually from December 16 to February 28.

On the other hand, the summer stations have winter holidays for around two weeks in late December to early January.

Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had notified that the summer holidays for government and private primary schools in the summer stations (plains areas) will be observed from June 1 to August 31.

In the case of government and private smiddle, high, and higher secondary schools, the summer break starts from June 15 until August 31.

At the same time, the schools at summer stations (hilly areas) will observe summer holidays from July 1 to July 31.

Meanwhile, all schools in Punjab have already been closed for summer vacations with effect from May 28. The students will return to their classes on August 15.
