Lahore ring road closed due to fog

LAHORE: In Lahore, a blanket of heavy fog has descended, leading to dangerously low visibility and causing major disruptions in transportation.

The situation has prompted authorities to take precautionary measures, resulting in the closure of significant roadways.

The Lahore Ring Road has been entirely shut down for traffic due to the thick fog, posing a potential hazard for commuters.

Additionally, the Motorway M2, spanning from Lahore to Sheikhupura, and the Motorway M3, connecting Faizpur to Jaranwala, have both been closed in response to the adverse weather conditions.

The impact of the fog is not limited to Lahore, as it has also engulfed Mandi Bahauddin, Pindi Bhatian, Kot Addu, and Auch Sharif.

In these areas, residents and commuters are advised to exercise caution and follow any instructions issued by local authorities.

Sialkot and its surrounding regions are also grappling with heavy fog, leading to significantly reduced visibility levels. The affected areas include Pasrur, Daska, and Sambrial, where traffic flow has been notably disrupted.

Commuters are urged to stay informed about the latest updates on the weather conditions and road closures to ensure their safety.

As the fog persists, residents and travellers are encouraged to take necessary precautions, such as using headlights and fog lights, reducing speed, and avoiding unnecessary travel until the weather conditions improve.
