LAHORE: The Lahore-Sialkot motorway (M-11) was closed for traffic on Monday due to dense fog and poor visibility on the motorway.

According to a spokesperson for the motorway police, the motorway will remain closed from 9 pm on Monday to 8 am on Tuesday as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the road users.

He said that the visibility on the motorway was reduced to less than 50 meters at some places due to the fog. He advised the motorists to avoid unnecessary travel and use fog lights and seat belts while driving.

He also said that the motorway police were patrolling the motorway and providing assistance to the stranded vehicles.

Meanwhile, the fog also affected the traffic on the M-4 motorway from Pindi Bhatian to Abdul Hakeem Interchange.

The spokesperson said that the motorway was partially blocked due to the fog and the traffic was diverted to alternative routes.

The spokesperson said that the motorway police were coordinating with the National Highway Authority (NHA) to restore the traffic flow.

He urged the motorists to follow the traffic rules and the instructions of the motorway police to avoid any mishap. He also asked the public to call the motorway police helpline 130 for any emergency or information.
