Lahore’s AQI takes a turn for the worse

LAHORE: The intensity of air pollution has increased once again in the provincial capital Lahore. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of the city was recorded at 415 on Thursday morning.
With the worsening air quality, Lahore has once again topped the list of most polluted cities in the world.
In several areas of the city, the AQI was recorded over 600. In Johar Town, the recorded AQI was 844, while in Raiwand area it was 830.
Model Town part of the city showed AQI of 75, while Shimla Pahari area’s AQI was recorded at 686.
TRAINS DELAYED
Due to the worsening air quality, and the coinciding smog levels, the trains schedules were also delayed. Shalimar Express from Lahore to Karachi was delayed due to fog and smog, said Lahore Railways Division spokesperson.
The train departed an hour later, at 8:30 AM, from its scheduled time of 7:30 AM.
