Lahore’s metro bus service partially operational

LAHORE: The Metro bus service has been partially restored in Lahore. Some routes of the service are restricted, Punjab Mass Transit Authority said on Monday morning.
Metro bus service is running from Gajjumata to MAO College Chowk. However, onwards from there – from MAO to Shahdara – the service is closed, GM operations of the metro bus service said.
Punjab Mass Transit Authority said that the routes have been restricted due to security concerns.
TRAFFIC SITUATION IN LAHORE
Meanwhile, traffic inside the city is normally operational from Ravi Bridge, Old Ravi Bridge, and Sagian Ravi Bridge into the city.
Lahore Traffic Police Spokesperson said that traffic is also allowed on Thokar Niaz Baig to Multan Road. Likewise, Raiwind Road, Ferozepur Road, and Gajjumata are also open for traffic, the spokesperson said.
Traffic has been partially restored at Data Darbar, Azadi Chowk and Shahdara, DIG Operations Lahore informed.
Containers and trucks have been removed to make way for one vehicle.
Motorway, however, remain closed, as are the Eastern Bypass at Babu Sabu interchange. Lahore Ring Road is also completely closed for traffic from all interchanges.
Containers and other barriers are still in place and can be used to block the roads again in case of emergency. Police personnel is also deployed at the barriers.
