Lala becomes Nana again: Afridi welcomes second grandchild

KARACHI: Pakistani cricket star Shahid Afridi announced on Tuesday that he was a grandfather once again, as his eldest daughter Aqsa gave birth to a baby girl.

He shared the news with the world on Instagram, saying that “daughters are the purest reflection of His mercy and the most precious blessing.”

Hundreds of fans of the former Pakistani captain gave their congratulations on Instagram.

In August, Afridi welcomed his grandson, Aliyaar, which made him the youngest grandfather in cricket. Aliyaar was born to Afridi’s second eldest daughter, Ansha, and his son-in-law, Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Earlier this month, Afridi was in the news for commenting on the initiation of legal proceedings against former spy chief Lieutenant General (retired) Faiz Hameed in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He stated that “this action will further reinforce the self-accountability narrative of the current leadership and dispel the impression that the powerful are above accountability.”
