LAHORE: Following Pervez Elahi’s appointment as Chief Minister, substantial sums of both domestic and foreign currency were transferred to Moonis Elahi’s personal and company accounts.
This was conveyed in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) kickback inquiry report against both Pervez Elahi and Moonis Elahi, which was presented in the Accountability Court in Lahore on Monday.
The NAB investigation reveals that over 82 crore rupees were accumulated in various accounts belonging to Moonis Elahi, along with 1,084,000 Euros, in addition to 100,000 pounds and various other currencies in his account.
The NAB report suggests that these funds were acquired during the execution of various development projects in Gujarat, and they appear to be in the form of bribes and kickbacks.
Moreover, during Pervez Elahi’s tenure, agricultural land was also purchased in Kasur, with Pervez Elahi’s daughter-in-law acquiring 748 kanals of land in Gujarat.
It is worth noting that the former federal minister, Moonis Elahi, has not yet been subject to investigation in this case.
