LDA seals over 90 properties in crackdown on illegal commercial use

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has sealed 92 properties in multiple housing schemes in a crackdown targeting commercial fee defaulters and illegal commercial buildings.
On Friday, the LDA shared details of the crackdown, revealing that teams carried out operations in areas like Gulberg, Faisal Town, Allama Iqbal Town, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad and Canal Road.
A total of 35 properties were sealed in Gulberg and Faisal Town while 27 properties in Allama Iqbal Town and 30 others around Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad and Canal Road also faced closure.
The sealed properties included a range of businesses such as private schools, offices, cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, cash-and-carry stores, clinics, salons, and shops.
The LDA mentioned that these properties had received multiple notices before the operations took place.
The authority stressed that this action against illegal commercial structures and fee defaulters is an ongoing effort across the city, and will continue in the future.
