LHC orders formation of Police Complaints Authority

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the Punjab government to form a new Police Complaints Authority within the next 6 months.

Justice Amjad Rafiq issued a 15-page decision, ordering the formation of a 6-member body presided over by an LHC chairperson, under the Police Order 2022.

The members will be appointed by the Punjab Public Service Commission, and the LHC chairperson will be selected by the Punjab Governor.
