Light rain brings some respite from scorching heat in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Light rain in various sectors of Islamabad has provided some relief to the residents from the sweltering summer heat.

The brief but refreshing downpour brought a significant drop in temperatures, offering a pleasant break from the recent heatwave that had gripped the capital city.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the rain was the result of a westerly wave affecting the upper parts of the country.

The Met Office has forecasted that there is a chance of gusty winds and heavy downpour in the evening, which is likely to bring the temperatures down significantly in the twin cities.

Meanwhile, mainly hot weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very hot in southern areas during the next twelve hours.
