Light rain predicted for smog-hit areas

ISLAMABAD: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has predicted light rain in most parts of Punjab, bringing hope to residents affected by smog and fog.

According to the PDMA spokesperson, rain is expected in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Mianwali, Khushab, and Sargodha from November.

Heavy rainfall is forecast for the northern regions during the same period.

The Met Office added that temperatures will drop in mountainous areas, with chances of rain and snowfall in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Additionally, rain may also occur in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Malakand, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, and Lakki Marwat.

Islamabad twelve degrees centigrade, Lahore seventeen, Karachi twenty-four, Peshawar thirteen, Quetta four, Gilgit seven, Murree nine and Muzaffarabad ten degree centigrade.
