NEPRA orders K-Electric to stop load shedding during night hours

KARACHI: In response to the severe heatwave in Karachi, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a stern directive to K-Electric regarding load shedding practices.

In a statement released today, NEPRA emphasised that K-Electric must refrain from implementing load shedding during nighttime hours.

The regulatory body has instructed that any load shedding, even in critical circumstances, should not exceed one hour.

NEPRA has also mandated that K-Electric submit a report within the next seven days detailing compliance with these orders. Failure to adhere to these directives will result in legal action against the utility company.
