LONDON: Hasan Nawaz Sharif, son of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, has been declared bankrupt by the London High Court in a tax-related case filed by the UK tax authority, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
According to official records from the UK Gazette, the case (No. 694 of 2023) was initiated on August 25, 2023.

Hasan Nawaz, listed as a company director and residing at Flat 17, Avenfield House, Park Lane, was declared bankrupt on April 29, 2024, after failing to settle his liabilities.
The case was part of legal proceedings over unpaid taxes, which led to a formal bankruptcy order.
Under UK law, such an order bars individuals from managing or directing companies unless approved by the court.
Despite this restriction, Hasan remains a director of several UK-based companies.
Bankruptcy orders, processed by The Insolvency Service, are officially published in the London Gazette. Legal experts note that the declaration adds to the financial challenges and scrutiny faced by the Sharif family over their overseas assets.
