Islamabad intensifies crackdown against overpricing, illegal refilling of LPG

ISLAMABAD: In a robust move against overpricing and the illicit refilling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Assistant Commissioner Nahel Hafiz of the Potohar subdivision has apprehended two individuals and levied a fine of Rs13,000 on the offenders.
Following the directives of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, the Assistant Commissioner, accompanied by a team of officials, conducted surprise inspections at various LPG filling stations in the Potohar area.
During these inspections, it was revealed that several establishments were violating government-prescribed rates and engaging in unsafe refilling practices.
Taking prompt action, the Assistant Commissioner arrested two individuals engaged in these illegal activities.
Furthermore, a fine of Rs13,000 was imposed on the non-compliant filling stations.
The Assistant Commissioner issued stern warnings to other potential violators, underscoring that stringent measures would be taken against those who persist in flouting regulations.
This decisive intervention by the Assistant Commissioner conveys a resolute message that authorities will not tolerate any irregularities within the LPG industry.
