Lt Gen Akhtar Nawaz Satti appointed as FPSC chairman

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to appoint Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz Satti as the new chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC).

According to sources, President Asif Ali Zardari has approved his appointment following the recommendation of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Satti is expected to assume the position after his retirement from the army.

The FPSC chairman post has been vacant since August 2023, delaying the Central Selection Board’s meetings.

Lt Gen Satti previously served as the chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), a position he was appointed to in 2020 by the government at the time.
