Major among three soldiers martyred in Mastung IED attack: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Major among threer Pakistan Army soldiers martyred when “terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Hindustan, targeted a security forces’ vehicle with an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mastung district,” the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack was carried out on the night between August 5 and 6.

The soldiers who embraced martyrdom include Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir (31), a resident of Narowal, Naik Ibni Amin (37), hailing from Swabi, and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas (33), from Karak district.

Major Rizwan, the ISPR said, was a valiant officer who had participated in multiple counterterrorism operations and always led from the front.

Four terrorists killed

Following the attack, security forces launched a sanitisation operation in the area. During the clearance operation, four terrorists linked to the same network were killed.

“Sanitization operation would continue to eliminate any terrorist present in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian Sponsored Terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR stated

PM condemns Mastung attack

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack by Fitna-al-Hindustan terrorists on security forces’ vehicle in Mastung district.

According to APP, he paid tribute to Pakistan Army’s Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir, Naik Ibn Ameen, and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas, who were martyred in the attack.

The PM prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and expressed condolences to their families.

He also commended the security forces for killing four terrorists of Fitna-al-Hindustan in a retaliatory operation.

“The personnel of the security forces are standing like an iron wall to defend the country,” he said, adding the entire nation saluted their martyrs.

Shehbaz Sharif said the sacrifices of the security forces in the fight against terrorism were unparalleled.

 He also reiterated the resolve to completely eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.
