Major and sepoy martyred, three terrorists killed in Mastung

RAWALPINDI: An army officer and a sepoy embraced martyrdom in a latest intelligence-based operation in Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Thursday, as security forces raided their hideout in Mastung district.
According to the ISPR, Maj Zeeyyad Salim and Sepoy Nazam Hussain were martyred in a gunfight, triggered after security forces approached the terrorists.
Meanwhile, the troops also managed to eliminate three terrorists belonging to the Fitna al-Hindustan during the operation.

“Security Forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Mastung district, Balochistan, on reported presence of terrorists belonging to the India proxy, Fitna al-Hindustan,” the ISPR said.
It added, “During the conduct of operation, our troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and resultantly, three terrorists were sent to hell.”
At the same time, the troops also seized arms and ammunition from the site.
Maj Zeeyyad (31) was a resident of Khushab, was leading the troops in the intelligence-based operation. Sepoy Nazam (22) belonged to Jhelum.
At the same time, the ISPR says that a “sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorist found in the area”.
The “security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country,” it said, adding, “such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve”.
A STRING OF OPERATIONS
With a rise in terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amid the active Indian support, security forces have intensified their efforts to root out their network.

These operations come as some circles are intentionally creating confusion on the issue of terrorism in the provinces, which have an additional significance due to CPEC.

On Tuesday, the ISPR had informed about eliminating four more terrorists in an ongoing clearance operation in Kalat district of Balochistan. These deaths on July 21 were part of the operation that started on July 19, it added.
And in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, nine Indian-backed Khawarij were killed and another eight arrested, as security forces conducted a days-long joint operation in collaboration with police and district administration in Malakand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
