Major martyred, three terrorists eliminated in Awaran operation

RAWALPINDI: A military officer sacrificed his live while fighting India’s proxies in Balochistan on Wednesday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, as the intelligence-based operation also resulted in the killing of three terrorists.

According to the ISPR, the security forces had moved into the area after receiving information about the presence of Indian-sponsored terrorists, which triggered a gunfight.

The firefight ended with the killing of three terrorists, while Maj Syed Rab Nawaz was martyred in the process.

Maj Rab Nawaz was leading the security forces during the raid, said the ISPR, showing his bravery while leading from the front.

The martyred soldier hailed from Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir.

However, the ISPR said a clearance operation was still underway in the area so that any associates or facilitators of the killed terrorists.

The sacrifices rendered by the brave soldiers further boosts “our determination”, the military’s media wing added.

Reacting to the news, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tributes to the martyred major and praised the security forces for their professionalism.

Fight against terrorism will continue until it is uprooted completely, the prime minister vowed.

Meanwhile, India is continuing with its efforts to promote terrorism in Pakistan, while trying to project itself as a global power. However, the recent Pakistan-India war exposed the hollow claims.

Earlier in the day, the Indian-backed terrorists again targeted the innocent civilians who were traveling from Karachi to Quetta, an unending series of attacking buses on highways.

The provincial government confirmed the death of three passengers and bullet wounds to seven others in the terrorist attack in Kalat.
