VEHARI: In a distressing incident, three individuals, including a woman and two children, suffered burns when an assailant attacked a school teacher with acid, reportedly in response to her rejection of a marriage proposal. Local law enforcement authorities confirmed the incident on Saturday.
According to reports, the shocking incident unfolded in the 9-11/WB area, falling under the jurisdiction of the Danewal police station. The accused, identified as Mithooo Khan, had expressed his intention to wed school teacher Ghulam Sabira. However, Sabira declined the marriage proposal, leading the accused to hurl acid at her. Regrettably, this act resulted in the severe burning of both the school teacher and two nearby children.

Promptly following the incident, concerned citizens apprehended the assailant, subjecting him to physical retribution before handing him over to the police.
The victims of the acid attack, including the scorched woman and children, were swiftly transported to a local hospital. Medical professionals attending to the case reported that Ghulam Sabira sustained significant facial injuries, with approximately 50 percent of her face affected by the corrosive substance.
Local law enforcement promptly registered a case against the accused and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. Authorities are working diligently to uncover further details surrounding this distressing incident.
