Marriyum Aurangzeb goes undercover to inspect hospitals, free medicine supply

LAHORE: Punjab Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb visited Jinnah Hospital and Lahore Children’s Hospital in disguise. She visited various counters of the hospital like a common citizen, inspected the wards, checked free supply of medicines, and reviewed the cleanliness.
Aurangzeb also asked the relatives of the patients undergoing treatment about the free supply of medicines and treatment. The relatives of the patients acknowledged the significant improvement in the situation in terms of cleanliness, treatment, and free supply of medicines at both Jinnah Hospital and Lahore Children’s Hospital.

All medicines were available from the hospital’s pharmacy. It was being announced to the public that all patients coming for emergency ward, hospital admission, and temporary treatment should take medicines from inside the hospital.
A helpline was also being announced by the hospital to complain about not getting free medicines
The number of patients undergoing treatment and their number was being displayed on the screen installed at the reception. The details of the medicines in stock outside the pharmacy were also being displayed on the screen.
The cleaning staff and guards were also performing their duties efficiently.
Marriyum Aurangzeb also reviewed the availability of doctors and medical staff. She visited the MS office as well.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised all the doctors and staff, including MS, for their performance. The CM had also made a surprise visit to Jinnah Hospital Lahore on March 24 on public complaints, and had suspended Jinnah Hospital MS for mismanagement.

Maryam Nawaz expressed outrage over the lack of free medicines and patients being forced to buy them externally. She had also ordered to display screens outside all pharmacies of hospitals, showing details of the medicines in stock, making announcements about the provision of free medicines in the hospital, and showing the arrival, treatment and number of patients at the reception on screens.
In the six days since CM Maryam Nawaz’s visit to Jinnah Hospital, significant improvement has been seen in these hospitals.
