Maryam Nawaz takes notice of AIDS outbreak in Taunsa

LAHORE:  Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the ‘CM Dialysis Programme’ under which Kidney patients will be able to avail Rs 1 million facility under the programme.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a meeting on Tuesday where significant measures were approved to improve dialysis treatment for kidney patients.

Under the programme, Rs eight billion have been earmarked for the dialysis programme designed to provide critical financial support to dialysis patients across the province. The patients will be provided with a dialysis card.

Solid waste management outsourced in 93 districts across Punjab

The dialysis treatment budget has been increased to Rs. 1 million while the dialysis costs have been set at Rs. 850,000 per patient in Punjab.

An additional Rs. 150,000 has been allocated per patient for dialysis support.

Maryam Nawaz emphasizing the importance of uninterrupted dialysis for all patients also directed the provision of free medicines and tests for dialysis patients.

The meeting also agreed to establish more dialysis units across Punjab.

Taking notice of a large number of HIV-positive reported cases in Multan amongst the dialysis patients, the CM instructed the Punjab Healthcare Commission to ensure compliance with SOPs at dialysis centers.
