Massive fire breaks out at Rimpa Plaza Karachi

KARACHI: A massive fire broke out at Rimpa Plaza on M.A. Jinnah Road, Karachi on Tuesday. Rescue services are still trying to douse the fire till the filing of this report.  

Rescue 1122 teams, along with fire brigade trucks, ambulances, and support from KMC, Pakistan Navy, and other agencies, have rushed to the site.

The fire broke out on the 4th floor of the Rimpa Plaza which has spread over to the 5th and 6th floors. Huge billows of smoke can be seen rising out of the building.

The affected building has been evacuated to ensure public safety and firefighting operations have been underway for over two and a half hours. No injuries have been reported so far.

Snorkels from the Cantonment Board and KMC are being used to douse the flames, while water tankers continue to supply water.

According to rescue officials, due to the presence of rubber and plastic materials, the fire has intensified. The cause of the fire remains uncertain.

Efforts to fully extinguish the blaze are ongoing.
