MASTUNG: A Balochistan Constabulary officer has been martyred, while two others have been injured in a firing incident on the National Highway in Mastung, Balochistan, police confirmed on Friday.

According to SHO Rauf Shahwani, the injured were shifted to the hospital immediately after the attack. The vehicle was en route from Kalat to Quetta when it came under fire.

Police said that search operations are underway to trace the attackers.

TERROR ATTACK CONDEMNED

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of police personnel in a terrorist attack on a police mobile in Balochistan’s Mastung district.

The premier offered prayers for the martyrs and extended condolences to their families, praying for patience and strength for the bereaved.

He directed authorities to ensure immediate and priority medical treatment for the injured.

“Terrorists seeking to harm the country’s integrity will fail in their evil designs,” the Prime Minister said.

He reaffirmed that the government and security forces are fully determined to root out terrorism from Pakistan.

The Balochistan government has also condemned the incident, confirming that the attackers had specifically targeted the vehicle of the Constabulary officer.

Government spokesperson Shahid Rind expressed condolences to the bereaved family and confirmed that security forces are actively hunting the suspects.

“This attack will not weaken our resolve. The fight against terrorism will continue,” Shahid Rind added.
