Matric exams commence across Punjab

LAHORE: The annual matriculation examinations of the nine education boards across the province, including the Rawalpindi Education Board have commenced from today, March 1.
More than 2.6 million candidates are taking the 2024 annual matriculation exams in Punjab.
These candidates are spread across 4,088 examination centers throughout Punjab, ensuring accessibility for all participants.
The examination process for Class 10 will continue until March 18, after which Class IX exams will commence on March 19, as per the Punjab board spokesperson.
In Lahore alone, approximately 240,000 candidates are taking part, with 860 examination centers designated for their convenience.

To uphold discipline and prevent any untoward incidents, Section 144 will be strictly enforced across all examination centers, ensuring a smooth and fair examination process for all involved.
Meanwhile the annual examination for Classes 1 to 8 in all government schools in the Rawalpindi division will start on March 4 and continue till March 20.
The results of the exams will be announced on March 31 alongside prize distribution ceremonies where position holders will be honoured with accolades.
Following the results announcement, the new academic year will start on April 1.
As for new admissions, government schools across the province, including Rawalpindi Division will start taking in applications and enrolling students in the first week of March. The first round of admissions will start on March 21 and go on till May 31.
