Matric, Intermediate exams rescheduled in Sindh

KARACHI: Annual Matric and Intermediate exams in Sindh have been re-scheduled due to the holy month of Ramazan.

The decision to reschedule matric and intermediate exams has been made in a meeting of the Steering Committee’s sub-committee to accommodate students during Ramazan to ensure a smoother examination process.

According to the revised schedule announced by the Sindh School Education Department the annual matriculation (9th and 10th grade) will be held after Eidul Fitr from April 7 to April 25 instead of earlier announced date of March 15 due to Ramazan.

The practical exams will be held from March 10 in schools across the province, including Karachi.

Similarly, the Intermediate (1st-year and 2nd-year) exams, which were originally set to start on April 15, will now commence on April 28.

The new timetable has been communicated to all relevant educational institutions, and students are advised to prepare accordingly.

REVISED SCHOOL TIMINGS FOR RAMAZAN

The Sindh Education Department has also announced new school timings for the all primary, secondary, higher secondary and elementary schools throughout Sindh for the holy month of Ramazan.

According to the new schedule, primary schools functioning in single shifts will commence regular classes at 8:00 am and end at 1:30 pm, whereas, the timings would be 8:00 am to 11:30 am on Fridays.

Primary schools with double shifts will hold classes from 7:30 am to 11:30 pm while their second shift will start at 11:45 am till 2:45 pm. The first shift timings would remain unchanged on Fridays while the second shift will be held from 11:45pm to 1:30pm.

All single-shift secondary, higher secondary, and elementary schools will start classes at 8:00 am to 1:30pm, while on Friday they will start classes from 8:00 am to 11:30pm on Fridays.

According to the revised schedule for double-shift secondary and higher secondary schools, classes will be conducted from 7:30am to 11:30am in the first shift and the second shift will continue from 11:45am to 2:45pm.

In double-shift schools, the first shift will start at 7:30 am and conclude at 11:30 pm and the second shift from 11:45am to 1:15pm on Fridays.
