Maulana Fazl traders strike

ISLAMABAD: Jamait Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman condemning the rising inflation and unjust taxes has announced full support for the nationwide strike of traders on August 28 (Wednesday).

“The IMF-dictated budget has snatched the bread from the mouths of the people and has made life difficult for the public,” Maulana Fazl ur Rehman stated, criticizing the government’s economic policies.

“JUI workers will make peaceful strike successful. JUI Business Forums across the country should fully participate in this strike,” Maulana Fazlur Rehman said.

Traders announce shutter down strike tomorrow

Commenting on political alliances, Maulana Fazl ur Rehman noted that recent experiences with political coalitions have not been positive, and emphasized that his party will run its movement independently.

Traders’ bodies from various parts of the country have announced that they will observe a complete shutter-down strike and take to the streets on Wednesday (Aug 28) to protest against the government’s imposition of various taxes.
