MDCAT exam in Punjab: Section 144 imposed in 12 Punjab cities

LAHORE: The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in 12 cities of the province in preparation for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), scheduled for Sunday, September 22.

According to a notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, Section 144 will be enforced in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujrat, and Rahim Yar Khan on the test day.

The order restricts the entry of individuals into examination centres, allowing only candidates and supervisory staff inside the premises.

The notification further stated that the movement of unauthorised persons within a 100-yard radius of the examination centres is strictly prohibited during the MDCAT exam in Punjab.

Additionally, a ban has been placed on bringing any kind of weapons, mobile phones, digital diaries, books, or guides into the examination halls and their surroundings.

Protests and demonstrations around the test centres will also be prohibited, the notification added. No individual will be allowed to interfere in the exam process or use unfair means.

The test centres shall be open for entry of the candidates by 8:00 AM and the center will be closed and sealed at 9:00 AM. No candidate shall be allowed to enter the Examination Centre after 9:00 AM. 5.3 The test will be of three hours duration.
