Unidentified men open fire at college bus for overtaking

two girls killed as men open fire at college bus

LAHORE: In Sundar on Tuesday, two female students from a private college, traveling from Kasur to Kashmir, were shot and injured by unidentified suspects.

The victims, accompanied by other students, were on a nighttime journey. Upon reaching Mohlanwal, a car carrying the unidentified suspects reportedly chased the victims’ bus and opened fire.

DIG Investigations Imran Kishwar stated that three bullets were fired.

Tragically, one bullet struck a girl, passing through her temple and lodging in her head.

According to reports, she is currently in critical condition and undergoing treatment at Lahore General Hospital.

The second bullet grazed another victim’s arm, while the third hit the bus itself. Kishwar’s initial investigations suggest that the incident may have stemmed from the driver’s road rage.

Reports suggest that the suspected driver opened fire after the bus successfully overtook the suspect’s car. Frustrated by their inability to reciprocate, the suspect reportedly fired gunshots while attempting to overtake the bus near Mohlanwal.

The girls injured due to the gunshots have been identified as Ayesha and Nimra.

Taking cognizance of the incident, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has instructed CCPO Lahore to provide a detailed report.

He emphasised the swift arrest of the accused and ensuring the injured girls receive the best possible medical treatment.
