ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Development Authority (CDA) has increased fares for Metro and electric buses. The new fares have become applicable from today (June 1), CDA said on Sunday.

Orange, Green, and Blue Line as well as electric bus fares are now fixed at Rs100, CDA said.

This development comes one week after the CDA had denied increasing fares for metro and electric bus services in the federal capital. Earlier, the news broke of CDA doubling the one-way trip fares from Rs50 to Rs 100 for all these bus services, initially set to take effect from May 26.

However, last Saturday (May 24), a CDA spokesperson had said that fares for Orange, Blue, Green, and electric bus routes remain unchanged.

The new fares are applicable on all metro lines including Orange, Green and Blue, as well as electric feeder buses operating on 17 routes throughout the capital.

Notably, the Orange Line fare from N-5 to Airport was reported to have been increased from Rs90 to Rs100, while stop-to-stop fares for CDA-operated feeder buses have also been fixed at Rs100.
