Mild earthquake jolts several areas of Karachi

KARACHI: A 3.2 magnitude earthquake struck various parts of Karachi’s Malir district on Monday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, was felt in Landhi, Shah Latif Town, Sharafi Goth, Steel Town, and Gulshan-e-Hadeed.

Residents of Korangi also reported feeling the quake, with many expressing fear and panic following the sudden jolts. This comes just a day after similar tremors were reported in different parts of the city.

Earthquake tremors felt in Islamabad

The seismic activity caused brief alarm among citizens, though no damage to property or casualties have been reported so far. Karachi, located near several active fault lines, occasionally experiences such minor quakes.

Authorities have advised citizens to remain calm and stay prepared for potential aftershocks. The Met Office continues to monitor seismic activity in the region.
