WASHINGTON: The United States (US) reiterated its stance that military action between India and Pakistan was not a viable solution to the ongoing tensions and military confrontations between the two states, a spokesperson for the US Department of State said on Friday.
Speaking to the media, a spokesperson for the US Department of State called for de-escalation and dialogue, urging both sides to halt the cycle of violence that has characterised their relationship for decades.

“The president [Trump] has and continues to, at this moment in time, there’s like one thing that has to stop, which is the back and forth and the continuation of this [military confrontations]”, the spokesperson stated.
The spokesperson further elaborated that “the message from the Secretary and the United States as a whole is that the violence should stop. Military action war, as we have seen in that region, and certainly in the Middle East, has clearly for generations proven that it is not a solution because it never ends. There has to be a change in that regard”.
