Milk prices increased in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The prices of dairy products (milk and yogurt) have been increased in Rawalpindi by Rs 30 and 40 respectively.
With the new price increase of Milk in Rawalpindi it will now be sold for Rs 220 and yogurt for Rs 240 in Rawalpindi district from today.
According to the Gawala Union, due to rise in prices of animal feed and government taxes it is impossible for them to sell the dairy products on government rates.
New committee formed to address pharmaceutical pricing issues
It merits mentioning that the official rate of milk is set at Rs 190 and yogurt at Rs 200 and pure milk is not available anywhere in the district.
Leading dairy companies in Pakistan have already increased the price of packaged milk, after the imposition of 18 percent general sales tax (GST) in the Budget 2024-25.
The price of 100ml pack has been increased to Rs370, making it out of the reach of common people.
