LAHORE: In a startling incident at Children’s Hospital, Lahore, three chillers with a collective value reaching millions of rupees were reported stolen from outdoor units, along with other valuable items.
Hospital sources have disclosed that the outdoor units’ chillers alone are estimated to be worth a staggering Rs7 million.
Additionally, copper, valued between Rs2.5 to 3 million, was pilfered from the maintenance department of the hospital.
This incident has raised concerns about the hospital’s security measures, indicating serious lapses that facilitated the thefts.
Surprisingly, despite the gravity of the situation, the hospital administration has not yet filed a First Information Report (FIR) regarding these thefts.
With the hospital undergoing renovations, there is a growing fear that more incidents of theft might transpire.
Addressing the issue, Prof Dr Masood Sadiq, the Vice-Chancellor of UCHS/CHL, stated that the hospital administration is committed to thoroughly investigating the matter.
The need for enhanced security measures is evident, and swift action is anticipated to prevent further security breaches.
