ISLAMABAD: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that the journey of national progress was always disrupted by a few individuals sitting in institutions.
In a statement, the minister said that while the world has progressed, Pakistan has continuously been revolving in circles for the 75 years”.
Iqbal recalled the success of the developmental 3Es framework formulated in 2013, when the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was in power, with a focus on economy, energy, and education.
“The PML-N government generated 11,000 megawatts of electricity and got the people rid of load shedding,” he said. “We rescued the country from terrorism and revived the vibrancy of Karachi.”
Talking about the recently unveiled 5Es framework, which seeks to expand the sectors of exports, e-Pakistan, environment, energy, equity and empowerment, the planning minister despaired that “whenever the country is put on the path to progress, the journey is halted by (unscrupulous individuals)”.
