Minister Naqvi shuts down Narcotics Control Ministry office

Mohsin Naqvi closes narcotics control ministry office

WEB DESK: The Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, has announced the closure of the Ministry of Narcotics Control office, merging its functions into the Interior Ministry.

This decision, aimed at streamlining operations and reducing expenditure, was communicated via his latest post on social media platform X.

During a visit to the Narcotics Control Ministry on Wednesday, Minister Naqvi reiterated his commitment to efficiency by opting not to utilise the minister’s office within the narcotics ministry, stating, “One office is enough for me. Offices in two ministries are a waste of resources.”

In line with this consolidation, Minister Naqvi directed the relocation of staff from the narcotics minister’s office to other necessary departments within the ministry, emphasising the optimal utilisation of manpower.

Earlier, Minister Naqvi chaired a pivotal meeting of the narcotics department ministry, where he received a comprehensive briefing on ministry affairs.

Additionally, it has been announced by the interior ministry that Minister Naqvi will not receive a monthly salary during his tenure.
