Mobile phone service to remain partially shut in Punjab on Muharram 9th,10th

LAHORE: Mobile phone service will remain partially suspended in various cities across Punjab on the 9th, and 10th of Muharram the provincial Home Department announced on Monday.

According to the spokesperson for the Home Department, mobile service will not be completely suspended in any city. Instead, the department has recommended suspending mobile service only in areas with processions and gatherings.

In most districts, mobile service will be partially suspended from 8am to 10p, on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

However, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sargodha, Khushab, and Sialkot will not experience any mobile service suspensions. Similarly, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara, and Chiniot will all maintain active mobile services during these days.

Mobile service will be partially suspended in Gujranwala, Narowal, Toba Tek Singh, and Bhakkar. Mandibahauddin, Wazirabad, and Rajanpur will also experience partial mobile service suspensions. Faisalabad, Bahawalnagar, and Hafizabad will face similar suspensions. In Rawalpindi, mobile service will be suspended at 28 locations, and in Rahim Yar Khan, at 15 locations.

In Mianwali and Bahawalpur, mobile service will be suspended at 11 locations. In Layyah, it will be suspended at 10 locations, in Muzaffargarh at 7 locations, and in Nankana Sahib at 6 locations. The decision to suspend mobile service at specific locations has been made to maintain law and order, according to the spokesperson.
